Where to eat between San Antonio and Austin

Today my Multimedia Journalism class learned how to create custom google maps from a data set. This is a relatively easy way to get an interesting and interactive graphic onto a story or blog post. This one is about our class’ favorite places to eat in San Antonio, Austin, and San Marcos.

We also used StoryMapJS to create a more visually interesting map. This map has less data in its data set, but shows the visual intrigue.

Our final exercise was in Flourish, a data visualization tool. This bar chart shows enrollment data at Texas State in the past 4 years.
